JOB TITLE: KAIAWHINA

Full time: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Kaiawhina to join our team!
As a Kaiawhina, you will be supporting our Kaiarahi Oranga Kopara, with rangatahi programs, responsible for organising and delivering research and revitalising Traditional Maara Kai practices. If you have a passion for Matauranga Maori, excellent planning skills, and experience working with diverse groups, we encourage you to apply!
Key Responsibilities: - Research Traditional Maara Kai practices in our Matakaoa area, collaborate with team to deliver programs, ensuring cultural authenticity and sensitivity, build relationships with local iwi, hapu, and community groups. Facilitate workshops, events, and activities that promote intergenerational knowledge sharing and skill development, Evaluate program effectiveness and provide insight for future development.
Requirements: - Strong understanding of Matauranga Maori and Maara Kai practices, Knowledge of Matakaoa area and its communities. Excellent planning and teamwork skills, Ability to work effectively with diverse groups - tamariki, rangatahi, pakeke, kaumatua and kuia, , basic understanding of Microsoft and general computer skills, good communication skills for interviewing and capture data to report back.
